LSX Leaders — Life Sciences Pitch Platform Development

    Background / Challenge

LSX Leaders organises high-profile events for the life sciences sector, bringing together startups, scale-ups, investors, and industry leaders. As the ecosystem grew, LSX saw an increasing demand from biotech and medtech startups to connect with angel and venture investors more efficiently. Traditional in-person pitch sessions were limited by time, geography, and audience size, which meant promising innovators often struggled to get their message in front of the right people.

    Objectives

    • Develop a scalable, professional media format to showcase startup pitches.
    • Enhance the visibility and credibility of scientific entrepreneurs seeking funding.
    • Support LSX's ambition to grow its events and provide lasting value beyond the live conference setting.
    • Ensure the delivery process was secure, professional, and investor-ready.

    Approach / Solution

I collaborated with LSX to create a digital pitch content format that would extend the reach of their flagship events. My role focused on high-quality picture-in-picture video production capturing both presenters and their slides seamlessly, secure delivery of media files ensuring pitches were transferred and managed safely for integration into LSX's existing hosting platform, and advisory support guiding LSX on best practice for managing investor-only access and digital workflows. This approach provided startups with polished, professional content they could use beyond the event itself, while giving investors a more flexible way to evaluate opportunities.

    Execution

    • Led a production team to record, edit, and deliver startup pitch sessions.
    • Worked directly with founders to help them refine delivery and maximize impact.
    • Coordinated closely with LSX's internal hosting team to ensure smooth and secure integration into their digital platform.
    • Provided guidance on structuring investor access and maintaining confidentiality.

    Results / Impact

    • Event growth and innovation: The pitch platform became a distinctive feature of LSX's offering, setting them apart in the competitive events space.
    • Attractive to investors and acquirers: The professionalism and innovation of the platform was one of several factors that contributed to LSX being acquired by a larger events company.
    • Enhanced startup visibility: Scientific entrepreneurs reached a wider pool of potential investors, improving their funding prospects.
    • Investor engagement: Angels and VCs benefited from more flexible and accessible pitch content.
